This is Where Your True Ghetto-ness Comes in Handy...

On this page, we are going to be making this:

I know, I know... this looks totally wierd... sorry...

Yes, I do realize that this picture looks a bit... odd... But, in reality it's a work of true ghettofied beauty.

This is the air intake nozzle where you pump the air into the air chamber. The black thing sticking out of the top of the PVC dome cap is a bicycle tire tube's stem valve that I simply cut off and PVC cemented to the inside of the dome cap. More detailed instructions are below:

Also, this is quite obviously NOT to scale. So, don't take it that way. Sorry, my skills aren't quite at the levels of Leonardo DiVinci or Bob Ross.

Here is a little more detail on how to attach the tire tube's stem valve to the UNDERSIDE of the PVC dome cap.

This is a ghetto representation of how to attach the valve stem

As you can see, my artist skills are slowly dwindling... This is the underside of the cap with the valve attached.

All you need to do for this is take an old bike tube (the thing that's inside the tire) that has a working stem valve (the thing that you attach the bike pump to to fill it with air) and simply cut off a section of it that is about 1" on all sides of the stem valve when it is no longer a tube Meaning: you are going to have to cut what was a 2 inch long piece of bike tubing with a stem valve in the middle into a flat square piece of rubber with 1" on all sides of the stem valve (which is, of course, in the middle).

Next, you will need to drill a hole just big enough for the stem valve to get through. I believe a 1/4" bit will do the trick just right. Before you place the valve stem in the hole, however, you are going to need to snip away at in a little bit so that it won't curl up and create bubbles in which air will easily escape.

Remember, after you cement this in you will not be able to remove it easily (or maybe not at all); so, do it right the first time!

Now, smother the inside of the cap with PVC cement and quickly and carefully put the stem valve through the opening and push the flappy black rubber down in the goopy blue (normally...) PVC cement. Let it cure for a minute or two.

Now, you can cement the cap to the 5'-long 2"-diameter piping. Finally, you should attach to the long 2" pipe to the end of the only remaining connection - the 2" 90 degree PVC elbow connection.

Your marshmallow launcher construction is complete. There are a few more steps to complete, though.
